Priors Tithe Barn wedding – Kat & Reece

It’s on days like this that us wedding photographers like to look forward to the summer. It won’t be long (til summer comes) and to get in the mood here’s a rustic, country wedding at Prior’s Tithe Barn. Kat and Reece met one July evening in 2010. After plucking up the courage to ask her out Reece and Kat spent their summer getting to know each other before spending the next two years studying apart only meeting once a month. It was tough but it made them stronger.

Valentines Proposal

Fast forward a few years and they had their first Valentine’s day together. Kat thought that Reece had planned a romantic surprise. However a trip to the cinema to watch a film about a break up and then a trip to KFC – who knew the restaurants would be booked in advance? – wasn’t exactly what she was expecting. The next year Reece made up for it with a romantic trip to Edinburgh. In a quiet picturesque spot in the castle he got down on one knee. Kat cried like a baby.

Kat and Reece decided to get married at St. Michaels and All Angels in Cheltenham as it was where her Mum was married and where her Grand Parents lived. It was Kat’s dream to have a rustic barn wedding and Priors Tithe barn is a beautiful wedding venue set in stunning surroundings.

Priors Tithe Barn Wedding Venue

Kat says “After looking high and low for local barn venues I happened to come across Priors Tithe Barn in Brockworth which is a truly hidden gem! When we visited the barn in July 2015 we both new it would be perfect, it was beautifully kept and had a magical atmosphere. The barn itself and courtyard were left rustic and natural but the venue also offered the manor house and lawns that would provide elegance and opulence to our wedding.”

“We wanted the day to be relaxed and fun with a rustic yet elegant backdrop. We wanted everything to look natural with hints of lace and hessian. The colour scheme was kept to pastel pink, mint green and cream which added a soft and romantic element and looked perfect against the barn backdrop. During the lawn reception we had blowing bubbles for all guests which turned out to be great fun for all ages and the photographs are brilliant! We wanted guests to relax and have fun so the lawn games provided by our venue stylist – Lauradana at Wedding Creations UK – were perfect. The hay bale seating provided guests with a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful summers evening. The vintage ice cream van added a surprise element for everyone – even the groom – and added to the fun atmosphere. We wanted our wedding to be personal for both ourselves and our guests.”

The Honeymoon

For the honeymoon “We decided to go on several minimoons ensuring that we drag out our newlywed status for as long as possible as well as any complementary upgrades that come along! First off we headed down to beautiful St.Ives for a complete rest and recuperation break which was much needed. The following week we jetted off to Rome for five days of sight seeing and soaking up the beautiful Italian sunshine. Two minimoons down…one still to go! October we are heading off to Reykjavik to enjoy relaxing at the blue lagoon and hopefully catch a glimpse of the northern lights if we are lucky enough.

Reece’s parents currently live in New Delhi, India and have booked us surprise flights to spend Christmas and New Year out there as our wedding present which will be an absolutely incredible way to end the year! I definitely recommend several minimoons as they have banished any postwedding blues!”

“We would both like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much for capturing our special day in an array of magical photographs! We were blown away by the quality of work and after meeting both Kevin & Carol you were friendly and completely approachable and made us feel totally at ease. The pre-wedding shoot was great, we all got to know one other and were able to practice some poses before the big day! The photographs that we have received are already in pride of place around are home and are being showed off to friends and family! We can’t wait to look back at our wedding photographs in years to come and relive all of our wonderful memories.”

We would love to hear from you
