In 2016 we photographed 40 weddings, travelled 7500 miles all over the UK, met some amazing couples and delivered just short of 24,000 wedding photos. We photographed couples from as far away as Hong Kong and Australia as well as couples who lived within walking distance. It has been the year of the rainy wedding. Less than a quarter of the weddings we photographed this year were completely dry. We’ve also had our gear tested at some very dark winter weddings. It’s been an amazing and busy year. We switched camera brands and updated all of our equipment. We now use Fujifilm X series cameras – we switched from Canon – and what a difference they have made. We can get right in on the action and still remain largely unnoticed.

We tell our couples that we shoot documentary wedding photography with some portraits on top. The gallery below is just that. The narrative flows from prep to party and shows what you can expect us to cover during a typical wedding day. We are always looking out for little moments (and big moments), expressions and connections between couples, their families and guests. It’s the story of your day without interference but with some portraits included. It’s what we call Creative Photojournalism. It’s what we love to do.

I have really struggled to reduce down the number of images so I’m going for a “more is more” approach. Here is our best wedding photography in 2016.
