I’m not the most prolific social media user but I do like Instagram. There’s no “experts” or opinions. It’s just about the image. Here’s the first of a – probably intermittent – series Top Instagram posts where I’ll share the 5 most liked images from the previous month.
Adventures in Wedding Photography
Welcome to our blog. Here we share our favourite weddings, engagement shoots and other related things. If you would like to see more from Wiltshire and all the other places I’ve visited you can see featured weddings here or view the portfolio here.
Zia and Ady had a relaxed, fun, seaside themed Cotswolds wedding at the Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury. It was a glorious spring day with loads of sunshine. I started the day with Zia and the girls at a lovely little cottage on the edge of Tetbury while Carol met the boys at the barn. After the ceremony and the confetti walk all the guests gathered in the gardens for a drinks reception in the sun.
Kate & Jamie had a winter wedding at Clevedon Hall in January after meeting on Tinder. It was a leap year and Kate had Haribo rings, so after Jamie’s Dad joking about it, she got down on one knee after the washing up. He said yes. Of course the Haribo didn’t last long and a few weeks later Jamie presented Kate with a diamond.
Trereife House is a gorgeous Manor House near Penzance in Cornwall. It’s an amazing wedding venue set in its beautiful formal gardens. Tacita and Jan booked us as their wedding photographers because we are husband and wife and we work together as a team as they do. Jan grew up in Cornwall and it’s a fantastic place. Jan proposed on St. Michael’s Mount in Marazion and they were married a stone’s throw away in Gulval Church just outside Penzance. Trereife house with its beautiful gardens and marquee is a gift for us as you’ll see…
Robert and Andrew’s Pembroke College wedding in Cambridge was a day full of joy and emotion. Robert and Andrew had talked about getting married for ages. Eventually Andrew decided to do something about it and booked a surprise weekend in a very romantic Landmark Trust apartment in the tower of Canons Ashby house in Northamptonshire.
I love Stone Barn wedding photography. It’s such a unique place with it’s old barn fronted by the patina of the dutch barn. Out in the middle of nowhere, it’s the perfect place for a celebration.
Mel and Ged met at work. Mel interviewed Ged for a job and after 3 years of working side by side and discovering that they were both Midsomer Murders fans – They entered the wedding breakfast to the Midsomer Murders theme – they finally got together in 2006. I asked them why they had chosen to have their wedding at Stone Barn. They told me they just loved the Cotswolds and wanted their wedding photos to reflect the area and time of year; Roaring fires, stone cottages and beautiful countryside. Stone Barn is an amazing place for us Cotswolds wedding photographers. I’ll let Ged tell you about the wedding…
All I could hear was giggling coming from behind the door and shouts of “We’re not ready!” as I arrived. I had to wait in the kitchen where I could see the venue. Are you looking for a unique wedding venue in the South West? Latifé & Andrew chose a beautiful one of a kind wedding venue. It “floats” within walking distance of their home.
Fiona and Ben’s Larmer Tree Gardens wedding was fun and quirky. Ben was dressed in peacock colours to match the venue’s prolific birds and Fiona had a beautiful 50’s inspired tea length dress. Luckily it was a gorgeous Autumn day so they were able to hold the wedding ceremony outdoors in the Lower Indian Room. Here’s the low down..
Charlie is a bell ringer for St. George’s Church, Easton in Gordano. Carol is afraid of heights so she was a little nervous when he announced that he was going to be ringing the bells for his wedding. She braved it out and went up the tower and photographed him and the other bell ringers doing their thing before Amanda arrived in the car. We were excited to be Clevedon Hall wedding photographers as we hadn’t been there before and it’s a beautiful venue. We be back for another fabulous, if a little colder, Clevedon Hall wedding in January. Can’t wait.
It’s on days like this that us Cotswolds wedding photographers like to look forward to the summer. It won’t be long (til summer comes) and to get in the mood here’s a rustic, country wedding at Prior’s Tithe Barn. Kat and Reece met one July evening in 2010. After plucking up the courage to ask her out Reece and Kat spent their summer getting to know each other before spending the next two years studying apart only meeting once a month. It was tough but it made them stronger.
