Cripps Stone Barn wedding – Rhian & Greg

Greg and Rhian’s Cripps Stone Barn wedding was nearly ten years to the day after they met (it was two days out but we can forgive them for wanting a wedding on Saturday). Both are Doctors and met at Medical School. During a surprise trip to Barcelona Greg led Rhian to a romantic small quiet square and (once the Dutch bicycle tour had passed) got down on one knee.

We started the day at the Wheatsheaf in Northleach where the wedding party had taken the whole hotel. It’s a beautiful setting in it’s own right with some quirky features giving it a real character. It was a damp start but soon brightened up and we had glorious sunshine for the rest of the day. The guests were ferried via vintage red bus to the Stone Barn and serenaded by the Vyne String quartet on arrival.

Cripps Stone Barn is a beautiful wedding venue and perfect for Cotswolds wedding photographers like us. Set in gorgeous surroundings with it’s post industrial looking patinaed Dutch barn. For decoration Rhian told us “Flowers were our main decorations, with two large hanging spheres of flowers in the stone barn where the ceremony took place in addition to milk churns full of flowers flanking the registrar. In the Dutch barn there was a stack of vintage crates overflowing with flowers as well as filled crates on the tables. Vintage birdcages full of flowers were hung from the ceiling to tie in with a motif of the invites and on the table names/seating plan. Added in were lots of other tiny details like vintage signs, personalised bunting and jars of marshmallows.”

Rhian’s advice to those planning their wedding? – “Make sure you do what you want to do and not what other people (or what you think other people) want you to do. Try and relax and just enjoy the day as it goes by in a flash!”
