Changeable. I think that could describe the weather at all of our weddings this year and it was no different for Nicola and Ian’s Crowcombe Court wedding. In the morning it looked threatening but in the end we were given a glorious day with sunshine and little fluffy clouds, perfect. I know it’s an English obsession to talk about the weather but everyone hopes for the perfect day.
Crowcombe Court wedding
Crowcombe Court is a beautiful Somerset wedding venue set in the Quantock hills where Nicola grew up. Being in such a gorgeous area it made the perfect venue. When we arrived in the morning there was a crowd gathered, examining one of the large flower decorations which had decided to leap from the entrance in a failed bid for freedom. Luckily it was able to be rebuilt in time to welcome the guests. Nicola is one of identical twins so there was definitely a pause when we walked into the bedroom but as soon as she saw us Nicola smiled so hopefully no-one noticed.
The light in the house is amazing and a gift for a wedding photographer. Huge windows streaming directional soft light meant that I couldn’t go wrong shooting the girls getting ready. Carol went off to meet Ian and the boys at home before everyone arrived at the house and the ceremony could begin.
In the evening they had a Ceilidh band so everyone had to join in and dance which was brilliant.
