Dauntsey Park House Wedding – Luke & Lucy
Dauntsey Park House is one of my favourite wedding venues. It’s small, it’s beautiful and it’s unique. People often ask me which are my favourite wedding venues to photograph and the answer is simple. It’s not the venue, it’s the people. There are beautiful venues with horribly rude staff and there are venues with caring, kind and considerate people. Luckily Dauntsey Park House is an amazing venue with lovely people – add on a brilliant couple, Luke and Lucy, sprinkle on some gorgeous weather and it makes the perfect venue for Wiltshire wedding photographers.
Luke and Lucy met at school. Apparently word got around the playground when he was going to ask her out and that nearly put him off. Luckily he couldn’t resist and here we are. ten years later, sharing their marriage celebration in beautiful Wiltshire.
It was a glorious day for a wedding with a vintage theme and lots of little details like a decorated suitcase for a table plan and some kind of strange device for confusing the under 30s that they call a “typewriter”. Luckily there was usually an expert older person on hand to show the youngsters how to use it which resulted in some fabulous poems and messages. Some would spell Kung Fu correctly, others not so much.
Golden hour was going to be from 8 O’clock so we had to wait until after the first dance for the best light. But it was worth it. Dauntsey Park House has a dressing up box so the evening resembled what I imagine a heffalump hunt to be; a procession of jolly guests, in hats, climbing a far off hill.
I can’t do justice in words to the day so here is my favourite Dauntsey Park House wedding photography.
