Garden Marquee wedding – Sarah & Mark
Sarah & mark were married at Mark’s parent’s home in Seend, Wiltshire. It was a gorgeous garden marquee wedding with fireworks and ending with a rock ‘n’ roll bride.
Wiltshire garden marquee wedding
It was a gorgeous day and the gardens looked spectacular. Sarah & Mark had a humanist ceremony in the middle of the garden with all the guests crowded around. Children played on picnic blankets and guests cheered and celebrated the wedding with the couple. Weddings are all about people and this crowd were lively and fun loving. After the wedding ceremony everyone went back up to the house for drinks canapés and of course the confetti run.
During this time we like to get stuck in amongst the guests working quickly and quietly up close so that we get the laughing and emotions of the day. We want to let the couple see how all the guests were feeling and interacting so that they can look back on all the moments they missed. When it’s your wedding day it rushes past in a blur so all these personal details are important. It’s important to us to capture the spirit and energy of the day through authentic documentary wedding photography without interfering and without being noticed (as much as possible).
After the meal and speeches we headed out into the gardens for some portraits. A lot of people feel nervous about portraits so it’s something that we try to do quickly and as naturally as possible. The image should look like the couple were just there in the moment caught up with each other. Not smiling and looking at the camera or being posed. We have a recipe for getting our couples to do that so that they don’t feel awkward and so that taking the time out for photographs feels like a break and some time to spend on their own.

We stayed on into the evening for the fireworks provided by Uncle Roger – who does all the family fireworks – and then back in for the wedding band’s second set. Sarah jumped on stage to belt out a couple of numbers before it was finally time for us to say goodnight and head home.
Mark and Sarah gave us a five star review – “They were fantastic and exactly what you want; people that can get on with the job , no hassle, and produce some stunning photos. Also, having two people taking photos meant we had great shots from lots of different angles. Highly recommend!”
