Henley Greenlands wedding – Claire & Miles
Claire & Miles had a beautiful day – rare this year – for their Greenlands Henley Greenlands wedding. Greenlands is a spectacular Henley wedding venue on the Thames. It is a gorgeous setting for a wedding with its grand white house and fabulous manicured gardens set on the riverbank.

Miles still has the card with Claire’s phone number on that she gave him when they first met. Miles was out in Oxford on a stag do when Claire aproached him and asked if he was one of the “Tank Top Appreciation Society.” (He was dressed as the rest of the stags in a salmon pink tank top). He confirmed that indeed he was and offered her a joining discount of £20 per annum. They got talking and she gave him a card with her number on. 11 years later he produced that card on their wedding day, much to Claire’s surprise.
Last year was their 10th anniversary of being together so Miles proposed to Claire on the highest point of Hamilton Island looking out at sunset over the Great Barrier Reef.
Henley Town Hall was the setting for the ceremony. Claire & Miles love the cafe culture of Henley and being mad keen cyclists – have cycled across England, Tour de France stage, a Giro stage coming up, Pyrenees, French alps and many other places – love the area around Greenlands for cycling and messing about on boats with their best friends.
I started the day with Claire at home while Carol spent the morning with Miles and the boys at Greenlands before heading into town on the boat. Their friends were all involved in the ceremony – “Our vision was to make everything as personal and natural as possible, without fuss. To have the most important people in the world, who make us who we are, along side us and having as much fun as us. We fully achieved this! We had an acapella group “Shiraz” singing, one of our close friends is a part of this, this was beautiful. Another close friend was our celebrant, one of my clients was the registrar, my old customer supplied the coach, one of my colleagues wrote a poem and Fee and Matt provided the getaway boat!”
After the ceremony I walked back – with Claire and Miles – through Henley, back to the boat where we set sail for Greenlands. All the guests were bussed back and were waiting on the riverbank as the boat arrived and the afternoon celebrations started. After the speeches “Mixtape” rocked the night away as the guests partied with blow up guitars and saxophones.
It was an amazing day and we loved being Greenlands wedding photographers for Claire and Miles. Luckily the weather was the opposite from when we met for their engagement photography in Turville back in February. Here’s what Claire and Miles had to say about us –
“Just thank you for being a part of the most special day of our lives – you two were brilliant. Not only that, but your photos are out of this world. Thank you for being a part of the most special day of our lives – you blended in perfectly. It was all very relaxed and you were a joy to have around. The level of intimacy that’s portrayed within the photos is amazing. We loved what Kevin did with the light and reflections, it really brought the photos alive.”
