Kim and Josh got married – Great Tythe Barn

Kim and Josh have been together seven years. Lucky number Seven. Seems like just the perfect time to get married and Josh knew the perfect place to propose. He hid the ring in a kitchen cupboard so when Kim was making a cup of tea she turned to find him on one knee.

They decided to get married in a barn and living in Gloucestershire were spoilt for choice but in Kim’s words The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury stood out against the others. It has so much character and charm. The staff at the barn are also incredibly friendly and helpful and we are so glad we chose it.”

The day was laid back with close family and friends, plenty of food and drink and lots of emotion. Josh and the groomsmen were dressed right on trend in blue Ted Baker suits with Kim looking absolutely gorgeous in her Pronovias dress and Jenny Packham shoes. She didn’t have bridesmaids but instead chose the cutest flower girls to walk her down the aisle. However things didn’t go entirely to plan – “A surprise was our incredibly cute flower girl Poppy, deciding she did not want to walk down the aisle with her sister. So a member of staff at the Great Tythe Barn came to the rescue and reunited her with her mum before she had a complete meltdown!”

Josh spent the entire day in what looked like complete astonishment as Bryan Gunton the magician performed some close up card tricks. It was fabulous to see the surprise of the guests faces as he produced their cards seemingly from nowhere.

Kim’s advice to couples planning their wedding is “When we were wedding planning, the advice would often be to take time to absorb the day because it goes by so quickly. We really underestimated just how quickly the day would go, the morning was quite relaxed but once hair and makeup was complete, the day literally flew by. Our advice would be to not stress over the small things as they really do not matter. Try and take some time together on the day as you will be so busy trying to get around to all your guests that you have to remember one another.”

“We are so grateful to Kevin and Carol for providing us with the most amazing wedding photographs. From start to finish, they have been amazing and a pleasure to be around. We included a pre engagement shoot which we loved as we were able to take our dog, Ted the bulldog along. He found an unusual amount of energy on the day and would not leave Kevin alone however this did not faze him and he was still able to get the most incredible photographs.
On our wedding day we hardly noticed that they were there as they are completely unobtrusive but they still captured the day perfectly. Having two photographers ensures that every angle is covered, we particularly liked the aisle shots as you could see both of our reactions, a single photographer could not achieve this. We cannot recommend them enough!”
