Kingscote Barn wedding – Jo & Jake
It’s been a while since we shot Kingscote Barn wedding photography. We were there as Kingscote Barn wedding photographers for David and Jules’ wedding in 2012 but haven’t been back since. This year we have a couple of weddings at Kingscote Barn and we’ll be back there again for Caitlin and Mark’s big day at the end of May.
Jo and Jake’s music themed Kingscote Barn wedding
Jo and Jake decided on a music themed wedding as Jake is a guitarist. All the tables were decorated with vinyl albums and their guests were invited to sign a silver Stratocaster instead of a guest book. We started the day with Jo getting ready at her parent’s house. Carol got a lift with Jake’s parents to meet him at Kingscote while I stayed behind to shoot Jo getting into her dress before heading off to join them.
Jo cried all the way down the aisle but as soon as she saw Jake her face lit up and it was all smiles from then on. The wind and rain kept everyone inside which I guess is one of the joys of having a March wedding. We have had many stormy weddings this year. It’s beginning to be a trend. Hopefully it won’t last. Jo was prepared though, she had pink wedding wellies which came out later in the evening.
Wedding Photojournalism
As Cotswolds wedding photographers we often get asked what we do if there’s rain on your wedding day (it’s not ironic, it’s weather). We even once got asked if we would get re-booked. The answer is – if it’s a sunny day we shoot a sunny wedding, if it’s a rainy day we shoot a rainy wedding (and everything in between). We get on with it. Most of the day is shot without interference. We see it and shoot it. We do take time out at some point in the day to shoot portraits with you – and that is really important to us too – but for the most part we shoot the moments and connections that make up the day in a natural and artistic way.
If you are getting married at Kingscote Barn. We would love to hear about it.
