Laid back Wiltshire wedding – Ben and Gemma
It was a beautiful summers day for some laid back Wiltshire wedding photography. Ben and Gemma were married at Barford St. Martin Church with a reception at The Royal Oak, Swallowcliffe. It was an intimate affair with close family and friends.
Documentary Wiltshire wedding photography
Our documentary wedding photography style perfectly fitted with Ben and Gemma’s plans. We just go with the flow of the day and don’t get in the way. We met Ben and the ushers at the Barford Inn before heading over the road to the Church. We were met by the vicar who wasn’t at all keen on photography “It isn’t a performance.” Luckily we have switched from our old noisy DSLRs to silent mirrorless Fuji X series cameras. With a bit of friendly persuasion, a promise not to move and a demonstration of our completely silent cameras she let us photograph the ceremony.
Gemma arrived in a funky VW camper. Her dress was a gorgeous knee length style with lace sleeves. Dad walked her in and she cried all the way up the aisle. From then on there was loads of laughter especially when Ben got his words mixed up “in the name of the father and the Hun.”
After the ceremony Gemma got an earful of confetti before the newlyweds sped off in the van to the Royal Oak in Swallowcliffe for the reception and wedding breakfast. The speeches took place outside in the garden. Plenty of laughs and some tears before the meal when we headed off. It was the final day of a three wedding weekend so a short day was welcome.
