Military wedding photography – Lisa and Steve
Lisa and Steve were married at the Royal School of Artillery in Larkhill in August. It was the first time we’d covered a military wedding and Steve kindly offered to put us up on camp the night before. As we were there on the Friday night we shot the rehearsal before going out for something to eat and an early night.
One sleepless night later (single bed, a strange place and the usual guests crashing around all night) we were ready to shoot the wedding. Everyone met in the Sergeant’s mess for breakfast at nine and then leaving Carol with the soldiers I headed off to meet Lisa at the Antrobus Arms. Lisa was worried that she looked like a bee keeper with the veil down but I love a veil so I shot her to show that she looked beautiful not beekeeperish.
Following the ceremony we had a few traditional shots with the honour guard and guests then back for the party to start at the mess. The speeches were mostly hilarious with some tears as the Military wives Choir sung McFly for Lisa.
After the meal we took Lisa and Steve off for some shots with Salisbury plain in the background.
Once the party was in full swing it was time for us to head off. It was a fabulous day and great fun even without any sleep and although we might choose not to stay on camp in the future we are looking forward to out next one.
If you are having a military wedding or maybe you just love our photography we would love to hear from you. Get in touch so we can hear all about your wedding plans.
