We love Christmas weddings. It’s a special time of year and with the night drawing in so early we get a range of lighting that really sets the mood for a cozy family get together. The crisp morning light, the early evening sunset and the long night make it the perfect time for wedding photographers.
Christmas wedding
Hayley and Dan’s gold and black tie wedding at the Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury was a fitting way to round off an amazing year for us. A classic and timeless look and perfect for New Year’s Eve. We had a few weather mishaps. It rained in the early morning when the guys were playing golf but cleared up for the prep only to hammer down when Hayley had to make her way over to the ceremony. Wrapped in a tablecloth isn’t a look most brides would go for but it kept the beautiful Mori Lee dress dry.
The fairy light canopy in the barn really set the mood for a Christmas wedding and Haley and Dan went to town with the decorations. Gold tablecloths with a variety of white flowers. Oversized balloons from Urban Outfitters and extra fairy lights. gold lanterns and pompoms were added upstairs. Hayley had loads of fun putting it all together. There were NYE props for the guests to wear in the evening and at midnight confetti cannons were set off and everyone was showered with gold.
Great Tythe Barn Wedding Photography
Hayley and Dan took the opportunity to make the party last a few days and took all the accommodation for their family and friends. They all stayed for three days with a big dinner for their guests the night before and everyone staying on for New Years day. It was the perfect way to start the year.
