Rockley Manor wedding – Emma & Errol
“Errol is an Essex boy, and still feels like he’s on holiday when he visits the countryside.” Emma grew up in Marlborough and it’s where her family still live so it was decided a Rockley Manor wedding was for them. Rockley Manor is a beautiful wedding venue and is a joy for Wiltshire wedding photographers like us.
The vision for the day was “English summer wedding” with a few Italian and Turkish twists. A relaxed day with a pretty, rustic setting. The flowers were muted woodland wild flowers, the dress – by Stella York – had a vintage feel, With an Italian proposal Aperol Spritz and Prosecco were the reception drinks and because of Errol’s Turkish Cypriot roots, the Canapes had a hint of Turkish flavour. Emma’s shoes were a bit fun, muted pink to match the roses, custom made, and embellished with stones and ‘I DO’ written in blue crystals on the base. Errol wore a navy three piece suit with the groomsmen wearing grey. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their navy flowing summer dresses.
After the hair and make-up was done Emma came down stairs where she got her first glimpse of the cake. Emma told us “The cake was very personal, made especially by a friend. She has made several show stoppers in the past, and this was no exception. As Rockley Manor has hosted the British Bake Off in the past, we wanted a ‘bakeoff’ style cake, but in keeping with the colours of the flowers. There were 4 tiers – Victoria Sponge, Lemon cake, and two carrot cakes – decorated with real wild flowers, candied rose leaves, and hand made sugar roses. She also hand made macaroons in Elderflower, Lavendar, and Rose flavour. Most importantly, our cat Pepper made an appearance, made out of sugar.”
Before the meal Elizabeth, Emma’s friend from school sang Ellie Goulding’s “How long will I love you” Which made pretty much the whole room cry! She has just released her first album. Check out her youtube channel.
Emma’s bridesmaid Polly – an extremely talental botanical artist – did all the beautiful artwork on the table plan and table names. She painted a few sweet peas and a white rose on each. They were simply beautiful.
Emma has the following advice for anyone planning a wedding – “Get a wedding planner! And make sure you take 5 minutes to yourselves as new husband and wife to appreciate the day that you have spent so long planning. It goes by in the blink of an eye.”
We loved doing Emma and Errol’s Rockley Manor Wedding Photography and they had some kind words for us too –
” Kevin was recommended to us by our wedding organiser, and after viewing the beautiful shots on his website, it was not a difficult decision to ask him to do our photography. We arranged an engagement shoot to meet Kevin and Carol in London, and we found them extremely friendly, laid-back, yet professional. They expertly captured some amazing natural images. On the wedding day itself Kevin and Carol were virtually invisible, yet they captured the vibe of the day perfectly. The photos (there were lots of them!) were truly unique, and looking at them afterwards was like reliving the day. Kevin and Carol have a real talent for capturing candid moments, and this is exactly what we wanted from our wedding photography – images that documented the day rather than lots of ‘posed’ shots. We are so happy with the overall experience and outcome, and would definitely recommend Kevin and Carol to others.”
Emma also wanted to say that “The staff at Rockley, particularly Beth, were absolutely fantastic.”
If you are planning a Rockley Manor wedding we would love to hear from you. It’s such a stunning venue, we can’t wait to go back.
