Rockley Manor Weddings
Rockley Manor, an 18th century Grade II listed manor house is a gorgeous setting for a luxury wedding. It’s a gift for Wiltshire wedding photographers like us. Situated in 500 acres of beautiful Wiltshire parkland near Marlborough, the house and grounds are beautiful. They can offer exclusive use hire and have several licensed areas where you can get married. If the weather is kind then the beautiful Georgian Portico is our favourite, followed by the smaller Secret Garden. If the weather isn’t kind then marriages can take place on the fabulous stairs in the manor house.
The grounds include a secret garden, croquet on the lawn and even a dinosaur hiding in the bushes, giving your guests plenty of space before sitting down to the wedding breakfast in the Baronial Hall. There is ample room for a marquee in the grounds or courtyard for larger weddings.
We are a preferred supplier at Rockley Manor and we love being Rockley Manor wedding photographers. It is such a beautiful venue and the setting is a gift. We’ve always found the staff to be outstanding and very attentive. We always say that weddings are about people and the best weddings are full of the best and friendliest people. Rockley Manor Wedding Photography
Sally & Adrian and Emma & Errol were both married at Rockley Manor. Both brides were from London but grew up nearby in Wiltshire and still have family living nearby. This made Rockley Manor a perfect choice for an English summer wedding.
Both weddings started off with the excitement of brides and bridesmaids getting ready in the stunning Manor House. Sally & Adrian chose the intimate Secret Garden surrounded by their family and friends whereas Emma & Errol had their ceremony on the Portico with the chairs for their guests laid out on the lawn. The Secret Garden is perfect for a small wedding where your guests can gather round and very much feel a part of the ceremony. Our favourite location is the Georgian Portico which has the house as an impressive backdrop. The Portico can cater for larger weddings as guests can spread out on the lawn. It was lovely to see Emma walking around the lawn and through her guests to join Errol on the steps. Both weddings were blessed with gorgeous weather which was just perfect for capturing their wedding photography.
After the ceremonies there were drinks and canapes in the gardens ahead of the wedding breakfasts which both took place in the Baronial Hall. Sally & Adrian were going to be surprised by a flashmob after their first dance (Sally’s friends had let us in on the secret). This meant we were able to get some great photographs of small groups of their guests sneakily trying to rehearse in various parts of the house and gardens at different points in the day. In contrast, Emma & Errol had a slightly choreographed first dance planned of their own to a Jazz band, so we were able to capture them rehearsing in the gardens just as the sun started to go down.
The atmosphere at both weddings was absolutely great, so much fun and laughter which continued well into the evening when the parties got started in the Baronial Hall. With the fantastic weather, tables were set up outside as well as in the hall so that guests could take full advantage and relax when they weren’t dancing.
