Salisbury wedding photography – Minti & Jonny
Minti & Jonny met at work, over lunch. Just over a year later Jonny popped the question. He couldn’t get down on one knee as they were sitting on a cliff edge watching a sailing race.
Everyone in Minti’s family has been christened, married or buried at St Mary’s Church in Codford so there was no other option than to have their wedding there. The vicar was lovely and let us get on with it. Us Wiltshire wedding photographers love it when that happens and we always say thanks. It was a traditional military wedding – “It’s hard to be original and unique- nothing wrong with a good old fashioned traditional party!” Quite right.

After the ceremony it was off in the MG to The Wardrobe in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral for the party. The Wardrobe is the museum of the Berkshire & Wiltshire Rifles and has a beautiful garden out the back where the wedding marquee waited the guests. The weather was changeable – fine for a traditional English country wedding – but the massive oak tree provided enough shelter for the drinks and speeches.
What were the highlights of the day? “We had thunderstorms and sunshine which made things interesting. We also co-incidentally had an unplanned fly past by and RAF Hercules plane which was special; everyone thought we’d organised it. One of Jonnys friends greeted me at the church and seeing him calmed me down a bit, the church was going to be full and everyone looking at me, but I’d forgotten that they were only going to be family and friends which then made me excited to see them!”
We can always tell whether there’s going to be a great party and this was one to remember. I love to mix it up on the dance floor with the guests and you can see everyone is having a ball.

What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding? “Don’t sweat the little stuff. Your guests are not going remember things like Does your stationary look nice, or should you bother with favours. They’ll only remember the couple, the party and if there was enough food or booze. Keep some perspective!”
“Kevin and Carol were brilliant; very easy to work with and a number of our guests asked where the photographer was because they blended in so well! We were over the moon with the photos for both our wedding and engagement shoot, thank you so much!”
