The Matara Centre Wedding Photography – Dilini & Will
Dilini & Will were married at The Matara Center on a gloomy November day. They invited us to shoot their Matara Centre wedding photography and luckily it’s such a gorgeous Cotswolds wedding venue it looks good in any season.
Dilini & Will met at medical school, eventually getting together as a couple 7 years later. Will proposed with a surprise flashmob in Barts Square London where they had first met. Dilini is originally from Sri Lanka and Will from Gloucestershire so The Matara Centre was the perfect venue being in the Cotswolds but with strong eastern influences.
The house and grounds are beautiful and full of colour even on a dark Autumn day. One of the advantages – for Cotswolds wedding photographers – of shooting on a day like this is that you avoid the clichéd shots. We weren’t able to go to the concrete spiral due to the rain so we had to use our creative wedding photography skills to find some other places to shoot. I think we managed to nail it.
Both Dilini and Will got ready in the house – in separate wings. Dilini wore a La Sposa dress with jewellery from Sri Lanka to match her Sri Lankan blue sapphire engagement ring. The bridesmaids dresses were Little Mistress. Will and the boys all wore Ted Baker.
As soon as the boys were dressed they headed over to the pub for a pint and took Carol with them. I stayed back with the girls until a delighted Dad came to see his little girl and take her to the altar. After the ceremony everyone headed outside for confetti. The speeches were hilarious and emotional with Will expressing his love to Dilini in her native Sri Lankan.
The cake cutting was spectacular. Even the cake had fireworks. Everyone lined the Japanese garden with sparklers before the dancing started.
Dilini said “Kevin and Carol were a pleasure to work with. Our wedding photographs were fantastic. They showed real commitment and enthusiasm.”
We love Matara Centre Wedding photography. It’s a joy to shoot there in any season. There’s so much going on in a beautiful wedding venue that you can’t help taking gorgeous, natural wedding photos. We would love to hear from couples planning to get married at the Matara Centre so if you have recently got engaged and are looking for creative wedding photography then please get in touch.
