Two brides – Rockley Manor wedding
Alex and Deb had an amazing day. I was delighted to be their Rockley Manor wedding photographer. Rockley Manor is just up the road from us and it’s always fantastic to photograph a wedding there. It’s such a beautiful Wiltshire wedding venue. The weather was on our side so the girls could have an outdoor ceremony on the Portico.
There were two brides but only one bridal suite. Deborah got ready in there while Alex’s prep was on the next floor up. Rockley is a beautiful place so it doesn’t really matter where you get ready.
The Portico is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding ceremony. It has a high roof and there’s plenty of room. Rockley Manor also has the secret garden for smaller, more intimate weddings but I prefer the space that you get on the Portico and lawns.
Carol was still laid up with her new robot knee so for this wonderful wedding I worked with Rich Howman who did an outstanding job putting up with me all day. He took some fabulous photos too.
I always hesitate to label these days as same-sex weddings or gay weddings as it’s just two people in love who have decided that they will stick together for life and want to show the world. However I’m in the business of drumming up trade so if I want to attract LGBT couples then I have to make sure that I show up in searches. Alex and Deb booked because they found us and we love to show as much diversity as possible with our images. We’ve photographed a few gay grooms but this was the first time with two brides. It won’t be our last as we are looking forward to another in August.
